Audi has produced some sweet, durable and also very powerful engines along the years. In the last 10 years Audi has always had an engine in the "top ten engines of the year". So keep calm and love Audi !

Audi engines can withstand some decent amounts of hp and torque after tuning, so spending money on your car is a real good investment !

Here is our top Audi Engines list

EA827-1.9 TDI

Reliable, Economical, Powerful

90-160 PS/ 1.9L / 202-330 N·m / stock performance

The EA827 family of petrol engines was introduced in 1972 by Audi in the B1-series Audi 80, and went on to power many Volkswagen Group models. This is a very robust water-cooled engine configuration for four- up to eight- cylinders, and is still in production.
These engines were build to last. If cared properly it should last ages ! They are normally reasonably good, they suffer issues though, in newer models, injectors being one of them with age/mileage.

We will be looking at the later models, because they also offer good performance apart from being strong and economical.
If you are not willing to spend substantial amounts of cash on the engine a simple chip tuning will make your car fly. Audi always felt more powerful than they are due to the fact that in most cases 80% of the torque is delivered on the 2000 RPM mark.
